Proposition 38, “Our Children, Our Future” Tax Initiative, which is co-sponsored by California State PTA, and endorsed by the Los Angeles Unified School District Board of Education, is on the ballot for the November 2012 Election. This ballot initiative, if passed, will ensure that at least 80% of the moneys collected will go to every individual public school in California. The rest will be used to help fund Early Childhood Education, and help reduce California’s education debt.
Scott Folsom, former Los Angeles Tenth District PTSA President, Highlands Council Advisor, Los Angeles Tenth District PTSA Health and Parent Education Chairperson, and California State PTA Health Commissioner, will be representing Prop 38 and PTA at the Northeast Democratic Club on Wednesday, September 19, 2012, in a discussion/debate about Prop 38 and Prop 30 at El Arco Iris in Highland Park. Please spread the word and invite anyone who might be interested.
Come early and have dinner in the main dining room – although food and liquid refreshment is available during the meeting also!
